“One of the best basketball documentaries I have seen.”
~Sheryl Swoopes: Naismith Hall of Fame | Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame | 3 Time Olympic Gold Medalist | 4 Time WNBA Champion
The Emmy® and Christopher Award-winning true story of the powerhouse University of Montana’s Lady Griz basketball team and their pioneering coach Rob Selvig, from the media company that brought you PBS’ Native Ball: Legacy of a Trailblazer.
In an era when gender discrimination in sports was the norm, Coach Selvig built a "house" of inclusion and empowerment by recruiting female athletes from the ranches, farms, and Native reservations of Big Sky Country. For nearly 40 years, these athletes would establish the preeminent women’s basketball program west of the Rockies.
“One of the unsung coaches in the history of women's basketball is Rob Selvig.”
~Nancy Lieberman: Naismith Hall of Fame | Women's Basketball Hall of Fame | Retired WNBA Player | Retired WNBA & NBA Coach
A native of Montana, Selvig took the reins at the University of Montana in 1978 when women’s basketball was not even recognized by the NCAA as an official sport. The spreading impact of Title IX legislation would change countless lives in a very short time, and so would Rob.
